House, 11 Plantation Road
TP-Link Deco Wi-Fi 7, 10G Optical Fiber to rooms
11 Plantation Road is located at The Peak. With 7 residential units provided, all detached houses. This case is about an 8,609 ft², 5 levels unit.
The client has 3 broadband, 2x1000m from i-Cable and 1x10G from HKT. Since the developer already construct optical fiber to each room, the user had 3 modems across each levels, with dozens of TP-Link Deco BE85 Mesh Routers, connected wirelessly in 3 groups, 3 different SSIDs. Since the walls are thick, wireless signal didn't goes well, the users struggled with very bad wi-fi environment. Affecting his job and kids' study.
Solution
We decided to relocate all 3 broadbands back to the meter room, combine them into one network: using 10G as main, 2 back-up and flow-balancing. Also we kept all the existing Decos. With the SFP+ ports on them, we used the existing Optical Fiber to each rooms to connect the mesh routers with our network switch inside the meter room, so every corners will enjoy 10G LAN network and high quality wi-fi.
